Being respect to our parents

Do you know that parents are important for us? They are the people who have taught us to be a better person. They have cared of us since we were child until now. Without them, we can’t do everything, even, we can’t get everything. Why? Because our parents are the people who used to feed us when we couldn’t eat or when we were sick, always be with us when we were down. They used to hold us when we fell and they used to listen to us when we complained about everything.
I strongly believe that all people in this world must respect to their parents. Why? Because our prophet Muhammad SAW / Pbuh (praise be upon him) asks us to honor and give our love to our parents. You should know that there is a hadith explains that Allah curses anyone who curses his parents. So, it is important for us to obey our parents and give our love to them after Allah.
I do believe that people should not only hadith, but also some verses in Holy Qur’an explains about birrul walidain or being respect to parents. Do you know? Allah asks us to not only worship Him, but also to parents like the verses in Surah Al Isra’ explaining that our Lord has decreed that we not worship except Him,and to parents we must give good treatment to them. And never say not to them even "uff/ah," and do not repel them but speak to them a noble word.
So, you can imagine how do if we not obey them? It is believed that we must get hard punishment from Allah. I personally think that all of you do not want to get hard punishment from Allah, do you?
We can get good message from Malin Kundang story when he disobeyed his parents especially his mother. He became defiant and finally Allah cursed him. Then, the big storm, rain cat and dog, and huge wive hit him, so, he was cursed by our Lord to be a rock.
From that story, we can learn and try to obey even respect to our parents on the purpose that we can afoid Allah curse. All of you do not want to be a rock, right? So, that’s why we must obey and respect to our parents who have given their attention and affection just for us. Can you remember about their affection and attention since we were children until now? You must know that parent’s affection is endless.
I also do believe that Birrul Walidain command also stated in An-Nisa verse 36, Allah Subhanahu wa Ta'ala says. Meaning: “And serve Allah: and ascribe nothing as partner unto Him. (Show) kindness unto parents, and unto near kindred, and orphans, and the needy, and unto the neighbour who is of kin (unto you) and the neighbour who is not of kin, and the fellow-traveller and the wayfarer and (the slaves) whom your right hands possess. Lo! Allah loveth not such as are proud and boastful” [An-Nisa: 36].
So, from that verse, we can learn that after Allah, we must respect and obey parents. Allah dislikes boastful and proud people.
Well,,,
I argue that most people whether they are children or adult, must honor to their parents, moreover to their mother. There are some hadithes explain us to obey mother first before obeying father. Why? Because mother is a wise and kind person bearing, caring, feeding, and giving affecttion for us. She used to hold, clean, clothe, feed and always be with you when you were sick. Like a song sung by Yusuf Islam entitled Your mother.
Who should I give my love to?
My respect and my honor to
Who should I pay good mind to?
After Allah
And Rasulullah
Comes your mother
Who next? Your mother
Who next? Your mother
And then your father
Cause who used to hold you
And clean you and clothe you
Who used to feed you?
And always be with you
When you were sick
Stay up all night
Holding you tight
That's right no other
Your mother (My mother)
Who should I take good care of?
Giving all my love
Who should I think most of?
After Allah
And Rasulullah
Comes your mother
Who next? Your mother
Who next? Your mother
And then your father
Cause who used to hear you
Before you could talk
Who used to hold you?
Before you could walk
And when you fell who picked you up
Clean your cut
No one but your mother
My mother
Who should I stay right close to?
Listen most to
Never say no to
After Allah
And Rasulullah
Comes your mother
Who next? Your mother
Who next? Your mother
And then your father
Cause who used to hug you
And buy you new clothes
comb your hair
And blow your nose
And when you cry
Who wiped your tears?
Knows your fears
Who really cares?
My mother
Say Alhamdulillah
Thank you Allah
Thank you Allah
For my mother.
